Bismillah Festival to sell artwork for first time

TEHRAN The seventh edition of the Bismillah Festival will open Friday in three different locations in Tehran and Isfahan where artwork will be put on sale for the first time.
“Holding a festival needs a budget when there is no financial aid, and we decided to put artwork up for sale. The sale will only be on the last day of the exhibit, organizer of the event Mohammadreza Kamareii told the Persian service of MNA.

He added that for the first time, items will go on exhibit in several locations; at the Pardis Gallery of the Mellat Complex and at the Azadi Tower in Tehran, as well as at the Isfahan Museum of Contemporary Art.

“The original works will go on show at the Pardis Gallery and the other two galleries will display copies of the items. Of course, works by great masters come only in the original,” he explained.

Kamareii continued that a collection of 350 works are selected for the exhibit, which will be in the two sections of logotype and posters. Artistic creations by masters of calligraphy Gholamhossein Khani, Mohammad Ehsaii, and Yadollah Kaboli as well as works by graphic designers Mostafa Asadollahi, Ehsan Parsa, and Mostafa Oji are among those to go on display.

The opening ceremony will be on Friday August 13, and will be followed by an award-giving ceremony. The selected works will be awarded on this day.

“A book illustrating the artwork exhibited at previous editions of the festival is also available for sale. The participating artists have warmly received the book so far. The book is priced at 210,000 rials (about $21),” he concluded.
